By the year 2050 it will be possible for the Danish society to convert their energy supply to only exploit sustainable energy. In order to guarantee a continuous sustainable system with available energy - when needed - calls for great amounts of seaweed. This is explained in an analysis made by The Danish Society of Engineers, IDA
Faroese Technology The technology developed by the Faroese company Ocean Rainforest has played a significant role in this project. The project focus has been on demonstrating that the energy can be exploited in an affordable way – and only by using local energy sources.
Gilli Trónd, Managing Director of Ocean Rainforest, and Vilhjálmur Nielsen, Energy Expert and specialist within The Bitland Enterprise have analysed how this technology can be reconstructed to fit Danish relations.
This is also part of an international project on which more can be read on www.futureclimate.info. Vilhjálmur Nielsen is a former member of the steering committee for The Danish Society of Engineers, IDA.
Attending Nordic Climate Solutions Ocean Rainforest is one of the six Faroese companies that are attending BlueGreenFuture at the Nordic Climate Solutions conference in Copenhagen, and there has been great interest for the Faroese companies and their technology solutions.
The chairmen and managing directors of the engineering societies in Denmark, Sweden and Norway are having a joint committee meeting in the Faroe Islands in October. Here they will have the opportunity to learn more about BlueGreenFuture and meet representatives for the Faroese Parliament and other public institutions.
